The Municipal Water Company of Cordoba (EMACSA) has begun the rehabilitation of 300 meters of the sewer line on El Almendro street, in the Santa Rosa neighborhood, using trenchless technology.
The Municipal Water Company of Cordoba (EMACSA) continues its preventive maintenance actions on the city's sanitation network. Recently, it has initiated the rehabilitation of nearly 300 meters of the sewer line on El Almendro street, located in the Santa Rosa neighborhood.
Through this intervention, EMACSA aims to anticipate infrastructure deterioration, restore its structural and functional conditions, and extend its useful life. The goal is to avoid larger-scale interventions in the future that would require opening the road surface.
The work is being carried out using trenchless rehabilitation technology, which allows for intervention from within the pipe itself. This method eliminates the need for continuous excavation, resulting in no traffic disruptions and significantly reducing inconvenience for residents and the neighborhood's daily activities.

The project involves installing an 'in situ' cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) liner using water inside the existing sewer. Once installed and cured, this liner forms a new continuous structure within the pipe, restoring the intended structural and functional conditions without needing to replace the entire infrastructure.
This solution is particularly important in areas like Santa Rosa, characterized by significant daily traffic and activity. Compared to conventional intervention, which would require opening the street along the affected stretch, trenchless rehabilitation significantly reduces the impact of surface work.
