This new cycle, coordinated by professor Manuel Jódar Mena, will present the films Barefoot in the Park (1967), Jeremiah Johnson (1972), and Lions for Lambs (2007), offering a retrospective of Robert Redford's career.
The quarterly program of the Audiovisual Arts Classroom has been active, including a previous cycle in February dedicated to jazz, 'Jazz between frames', coordinated by Carmen Quesada Rodríguez in collaboration with the Jaén Jazzy association. This cycle explored the musical genre through films such as The Cotton Club (1984), Mo’ Better Blues (1990), and Miles Ahead (2015).
In March, the cycle 'All happy families are alike' took place, coordinated by Ángel Cagigas, highlighting Spanish cinema with screenings of Las furias (2016), La casa (2024), and Creatura (2023), addressing diverse perspectives of family stories.
In addition to the cycles, the UJA hosted the awards ceremony for the XVII International Short Film Contest TRIMINUTO UJA 2025 and the screening of the short film Sábado a las tres, as part of the UJA Talento program. This event included a round table on 'New Perspectives of Andalusian Audiovisual and the Future of Cinema in our Land'. A new edition of the FoCo Film Workshop course, coordinated by Ángel Cagigas, also took place during the second quarter, with its resulting short film to be screened on Tuesday, April 7, at the Salón Morado of Building C1 on the Las Lagunillas Campus.
To attend the screenings at the Assembly Hall of the Old School of Teaching, tickets must be purchased, available from a week before on the UJA Events website.
