Originally from Bélmez de la Moraleda, though currently residing in Asturias, this professional has built a distinguished career in large animal veterinary medicine. Since birth, he has lived with Poland syndrome, a condition affecting the development of his right arm and hand, limiting the functionality of two of his fingers.
“"My future will be what I want it to be, not what they tell me."
This life philosophy, expressed in his youth to a professor who suggested a limited future for him, has been the driving force of his career. Despite voices questioning his capacity for clinical practice, he has specialized in complex surgical interventions, such as C-sections in livestock, an area that typically requires extensive experience.
His interest in veterinary medicine began in childhood, influenced by contact with his grandfather's animals, and solidified during his studies at the University of Córdoba. There, he recalls the influence of professors he considers “exceptional.”
“"In the world of veterinary medicine, someone who has been working for a short time usually doesn't perform C-sections; they typically do basic clinical work. However, I strive to do things as best as possible and try to stand out like anyone else in their position."
Throughout his life, he has faced misunderstanding and derogatory comments, especially during his school years. His response to these situations has always been professionalism and the pursuit of excellence, challenging those who doubt his abilities to match his level of demand and skill.
Although his career has successfully consolidated in Asturias, he maintains a strong emotional connection to his homeland, Jaén. However, a return to the province depends on the availability of job opportunities in the sector, as, in his words, Jaén still does not offer the necessary industrial conditions to facilitate his return. Nevertheless, he considers other options within Andalucía, such as the Los Pedroches area in Córdoba, due to the volume of livestock.
