The initiative, held this Sunday, brought life and dynamism to one of the city's main arteries, bringing dance closer to all citizens on a day marked by pleasant spring weather. To facilitate the event, traffic was cut on Andalucía Avenue, near the UPM headquarters.
Students from the Popular University's dance workshops, along with local academies and collectives, took to the streets as the absolute protagonists of the event. The mayor of Jaén, Julio Millán, and the area's councilor, José Manuel Higueras, attended this second edition, highlighting the large public turnout.
“"A magnificent collective dance in commemoration of International Dance Day."
Eleven schools, academies, and collectives from the city participated with choreographies covering styles as varied as contemporary dance, urban, classical, tango, flamenco, ballroom dancing, Latin dance, swing, and popular dances. Councilor Higueras specifically thanked the involvement of the private dance and ballet training centers in the capital.
“"The value they bring to the city by generating an important intergenerational movement and contributing to dance being more present than ever in Jaén."
Furthermore, the councilor recalled the importance of arts in general and dance in particular for both physical and mental health, contributing to an unquestionable personal balance.
