Normal access to the Juan Ramón Jiménez University Hospital was disrupted on Saturday morning by a dramatic traffic accident. A car, traveling on the main access road to the health center, performed a spectacular overturn after leaving the roadway, resulting in one injured person and visible material damage to both the vehicle and street furniture.
The incident unfolded due to causes that the Huelva Local Police are still investigating. The driver lost control of the car, which, after an erratic maneuver, ended up overturning on the asphalt, partially blocking traffic in the area.
Given the immediate proximity of the hospital, the response from medical services was almost instantaneous. The injured person was urgently evacuated to the Juan Ramón Jiménez Hospital itself for treatment.
Several patrols from the Huelva Local Police quickly arrived at the scene, cordoning off the area to secure it. The police force's Accident Investigation Unit took charge of the corresponding proceedings, and officers are now working to reconstruct the accident to clarify the factors that may have caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle on such a busy stretch.
Once initial attention to the victim was completed, a heavy-duty crane proceeded to remove the vehicle, which showed severe structural damage after the impact and subsequent overturn. Municipal workers cleared the roadway of numerous scattered debris, including glass, plastics, and motor fluids. Following these tasks, traffic at the hospital access point was completely normalized, restoring the usual flow in the area.
