The railway company Renfe has announced the extension of its road transport service, utilizing buses, to cover the Huelva-Zafra line. This measure, which will be in effect until May 15, is necessary to address damages caused by recent storms to the railway infrastructure, as well as to carry out various improvement works.
The affected route includes intermediate stops at Gibraleón, Calañas, El Tamujoso, Valdelamusa, Almonaster, Cortegana, Cumbres Mayores, and Fregenal de la Sierra, in both directions from Huelva to Zafra and vice versa. Users wishing to access this alternative service must possess a "valid transport ticket," as stated by Renfe, and the transport of bicycles and animals is not permitted.
The exact date for the railway line's reopening will depend directly on the progress and completion of the ongoing works. The trains affected on the Huelva to Zafra route are service 13087 (Saturdays and Sundays) and 13089 (seven days a week). In the opposite direction, from Zafra to Huelva, the affected services are 13084 (Monday to Friday and Sundays) and 13086 (Friday to Sunday).
