This initiative, managed by the municipal Culture and Archaeological Heritage Department, primarily aims to highlight the ecological value of this area, declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, through photography of birds in their natural habitat.
The competition seeks not only to foster knowledge of natural heritage but also to promote citizen participation in cultural activities and healthy leisure. Selected images will be part of a public exhibition in a municipal cultural space.
The call is open to anyone over 16 years old, whether residents of Huelva or not, and participation is free. Each contestant may submit a maximum of three original and unpublished photographs, which must focus exclusively on birds in the wild within the Marismas del Odiel natural area.
Works must be submitted in digital format, adhering to the technical requirements specified in the rules, and sent via platforms such as WeTransfer, Google Drive, or Dropbox to the email address provided by the organization. The registration period closes on June 20, 2026, at 24:00 hours.
A jury comprising photography professionals and representatives from the Culture Department will evaluate thematic suitability, creativity, originality, and technical quality of the submissions. A first prize of 500 euros, a second of 300 euros, and a third of 150 euros will be awarded, along with five honorable mentions including a diploma and participation in the collective exhibition. The complete rules are available on the municipal website and at the Culture Department offices.
