The fire originated in the area known as El Machao, and investigations suggest it was caused by an imprudent act during the cleaning and burning of pruning waste on a livestock farm where the investigated individual was working.
Various aerial and ground resources were involved in extinguishing the fire, including forest firefighters, fire extinction technicians from the Junta de Extremadura, and patrols from the Civil Guard.
Following an on-site inspection and witness statements, agents from the Natural Environment department of the UTV de Tentudía gathered sufficient evidence to identify the alleged perpetrator.
The Civil Guard reminds the public of the importance of adhering to preventive measures established by the Junta de Extremadura in Decree 52/2010, which regulates the use of fire and activities that could cause forest fires.
The proceedings against the individual for an alleged forest fire offense have been sent to the competent judicial authority in Zafra.
