During these days, the town is transformed with a display of ephemeral floral art, combining the scent of the mountains with devotion inherited through centuries. The program includes workshops, free concerts, and a visual spectacle that attracts visitors.
The cultural agenda begins on Thursday, June 4th, with the inauguration of the annual exhibition by the Municipal Workshop of Plastic and Visual Arts at the Spanish Institute Foundation. On Saturday, June 6th, starting at 5:30 PM, La Fuente street and Príncipe de Asturias Square will host the creation of the traditional multicolored sawdust carpets, one of the main photographic attractions.
The evenings will be enlivened with free concerts in Plaza de España. On Friday, June 5th, José Luis Pérez-Vera (11:00 PM) will perform, followed by a DJ festival (from 1:00 AM) featuring Barce, Ballesteros, Peibol, and Otero. On Saturday, June 6th, the group Siempre Así will offer their rumba music (11:00 PM), and on Sunday, June 7th, the youngest attendees will enjoy the Grand Children's Festival of the K-POP Warriors (8:00 PM).
The reunion with ephemeral art and the roots of Hinojos
On Sunday, June 7th, the main day of Corpus Christi, the celebration will begin at 9:00 AM with Holy Mass at the Church of Santiago El Mayor, officiated by parish priest D. Andrés Carmona Calero and sung by the Santa María del Valle Municipal Choir. Around 10:00 AM, the doors of the temple will open for the majestic procession of the Blessed Sacrament, with children dressed in First Communion attire, accompanied by local brotherhoods and the municipal corporation, all to the rhythm of the acclaimed Municipal Band of Bollullos Par del Condado.
The spectacular wooden processional Custodia is noteworthy, its structure reminiscent of the 17th and 18th-century "seat" models typical of western Andalusia. This year's floral decoration, designed by Jorge Morales Gil, will adorn the float with white tones using roses, carnations, gladioli, and alstroemerias, elegantly carried by a team of 25 bearers. The route will traverse the historic heart of the town: Plaza de España, Nuestra Señora de la Soledad, Muñoz y Pabón, Constitución, Santiago, and return to the temple after passing the Monument of the Heart of Jesus.
