The Defense Subdelegation in Huelva has welcomed the 55 candidates who successfully completed the selection process to join the Troop and Seamanship ranks. These new members will be integrated into various units of the Armed Forces, strengthening the province's historical ties with the military institution.
Throughout 2025, over 300 residents from Huelva expressed interest in joining the Armed Forces, with approximately 45% securing a place. This figure underscores the growing appeal of a military career among the youth of Huelva.
The candidates will now begin a ten-week general military training phase at military educational centers. This stage is crucial for acquiring the basic knowledge essential for any soldier. Subsequently, they will embark on a specialized training phase, lasting between ten and twenty-four weeks, depending on the specific branch of the Army and chosen specialty.
The culmination of the general training is marked by the emotional oath or promise before the Flag, an act symbolizing formal commitment to Spain and its Armed Forces. This training process not only prepares young people for their duties but also offers them opportunities for professional advancement within the institution.
