The CCOO Huelva union has launched a crucial initiative for seasonal workers arriving in Spain, offering direct guidance on their labor rights from the moment of their arrival at the port of Tarifa.

This action, driven by CCOO Huelva, aims to ensure that women participating in the agricultural campaign receive essential information about their working conditions. A union translator travels to the port of Tarifa to meet them, providing details on their rights and available resources in case of any incidents.
The general secretary of the Provincial Industry Union of CCOO Huelva, María Teresa Pulido, highlighted the importance of this measure. She emphasized that it is fundamental for these women, often in precarious situations and unfamiliar with the work environment, to access clear and accessible information from the beginning of their stay.

"It is crucial that these women have clear and accessible information from the outset, especially in a context where many of them face precarious situations and a lack of knowledge of the work environment they are entering."

The initiative is part of an agreement between CCOO and the Government Subdelegation, allowing for accompaniment and information actions at the point of arrival. The main objective is to strengthen the protection of this group, considered particularly vulnerable.
Furthermore, the union has expressed concern about the accommodation conditions of these workers. They have pointed out that, in some cases, the provided housing does not meet adequate habitability requirements, which increases their vulnerability during the agricultural campaign. CCOO Huelva has reaffirmed its commitment to continue these actions to guarantee the defense of seasonal workers' rights.
