The Ayamonte City Council has given initial approval to its budget for 2026, which amounts to over 36 million euros, representing a four-million increase compared to the previous year.

The approval took place on Tuesday, April 7, during an ordinary session of the Plenary, with favorable votes from the governing team and the Ahora Independientes Municipal Group, while the Socialist Municipal Group abstained.
The 2026 budget continues the strategic direction of the previous year, focusing on three fundamental pillars: efficient management of own resources, continuous improvement of general services and infrastructure, and support for the local associative fabric.

It continues to advance in the optimization and modernization of the municipal staff structure, with allocations aimed at improving the valuation of positions in different areas, such as gardening, and pending seniority payments.

In human resource management, improvements in job valuation are planned, including areas such as gardening, and pending seniority payments will be addressed. Furthermore, citizen security services will be strengthened, and investment in health surveillance and occupational risk prevention will be doubled, reaffirming the City Council's commitment to the well-being of its employees.
The improvement of general services and municipal infrastructures will receive a significant boost, with an increase in allocations for the maintenance, conservation, and modernization of public spaces. Actions will be carried out in streets such as Granitos, Alpechín, and Gieb Cabrera, as well as the change of direction in Juan Pablo II (Costa Esuri), the creation of rest areas in Lope de Vega and Plaza de la Laguna, and the installation of traffic protectors on Avenida de Andalucía.
In the education sector, Ayamonte's schools will see a considerably larger investment. The allocation for the conservation of school centers increases by 2% compared to 2025, reaching 102,000 euros, with an additional 126,900 euros for repairs due to storm damage during 2026.
Other notable investments include 50,000 euros for the conservation of the Church of San Francisco and 74,450 euros for the maintenance of rural roads, quadrupling the 2025 allocation. Improvements to municipal buildings and facilities are also planned, such as air conditioning for the town hall building and the Cardenio Theater, photovoltaic installations in Aspandaya, works in Culture area buildings, and the repair of the walkways in Punta del Moral.
In the social sphere, the 2026 budget reinforces investment in programs and support for local associations. Subsidies to various entities are maintained or increased, with a 28% rise for the Aspreato Social Soup Kitchen, a doubling of the allocation for Adacem to include a psychologist, and a 6.7% increase for the Agrupación de Cofradías. Brotherhoods, including those of El Rocío, Semana Santa, and Las Angustias, will see a 16.7% increase in their funding. Finally, the allocation for the social shock plan rises from 80,000 to 300,000 euros, a 275% increase.
