The initiative, named IActiva FP, was a collaboration with Google for Education and the Digital Agency of Andalusia, and received funding from the European Union. Its primary goal is to enhance teachers' digital capabilities, foster methodological innovation in educational centers, and strengthen the link between Vocational Training and the technological demands of the productive sector.
“"Artificial Intelligence is a tool that allows us to transform and enrich the teaching-learning process."
During the working sessions, teachers explored the potential of Artificial Intelligence to optimize daily tasks, personalize learning, and stimulate creativity in the classroom. It was emphasized that AI is a valuable support for teachers, but never a substitute for their work.
The workshop also addressed the design of innovative learning activities that integrate AI to improve student motivation and skills, as well as the ethical challenges posed by its use in education. Councillor Castillo highlighted that these tools will allow teachers to dedicate more time to creating high-quality educational experiences.
Key speakers included Gonzalo Romero, head of Google Education Spain, who lectured on the impact of AI in education and productive sectors, and Juan Manuel Córdoba Malagón, from the Strategic Cabinet of the Digital Agency of Andalusia (ADA) in Granada, who presented the AI projects of the Andalusian Government. Mariano Salas, director of Digital Transformation at Google Education, showcased Google Gemini's AI tools and their practical application.
Currently, Andalusia offers 15 specialization courses in AI and Big Data, with 305 students enrolled, which facilitate access to job profiles such as AI and Big Data developer, expert systems programmer, or data analyst. Additionally, 17 collaborative innovation projects are underway in Andalusian educational centers, three of which are specifically focused on Artificial Intelligence.
