The Official College of Quantity Surveyors and Technical Architects of Granada has inaugurated the exhibition 'Granada, Dreamed Landscapes,' an artistic display by Joaquín Fernández Cara celebrating the 150th anniversary of Manuel de Falla's birth, offering a poetic vision of the city.

The exhibition, located at the collegiate headquarters on San Matías street in Granada, offers an artistic journey through various Granadan landscapes. These works, reinterpreted with a poetic and evocative perspective, establish a dialogue with the profound cultural and musical legacy of Manuel de Falla, a universal figure deeply connected to the Andalusian city.
The author of the exhibition, Joaquín Fernández Cara, is a painter and technical architect born in Granada, who has practiced both professions since 1989. His artistic training includes studies at the Alonso Cano Faculty of Fine Arts in 1996, specializing in Painting and Environmental Design. He began self-teaching watercolor in 1973, and his artistic development was notably influenced by the Granadan critic and painter Marino Antequera.
Since his first exhibition in 1981 at the Palacio de Bibataubín in Granada, where all 32 of his works were acquired, Fernández Cara has built a distinguished career. He has presented his works in individual and collective exhibitions in numerous cities across Spain and Europe, including Madrid, Barcelona, Málaga, Sevilla, Paris, Florence, Venice, London, Moscow, and Saint Petersburg.
His work is characterized by his mastery of color and composition, ranging from figurative to abstract language, and demonstrating versatility in techniques such as oil and watercolor. Among his most notable commissions are the portrait of King Juan Carlos I in 1985 for the Military Government of Granada, as well as the portrait of Fray Leopoldo.
Fernández Cara is a co-founder of the Andalusian Watercolorists Association (1995) and has received numerous awards. These include the First National Gaudí Watercolor Prize (1996), the First Andalusian Watercolor Prize (Málaga, 2003), the First National Watercolor Prize (Málaga, 2004), and several recognitions in Tenerife in recent years.
The exhibition's inauguration took place last Wednesday and was presented by the College's president, María Paz García García. The event also featured the participation of poet and colleague Pedro Enríquez Martínez, who enriched the gathering with a literary perspective.
