Organized by the local Carnival Association, the event aims to keep the passion alive and promote carnival among the younger generation. Culture Deputy Gracia Baquero emphasized that the festival is "a way to express oneself, to create, to build community," and thanked the association's commitment to its growth.
For her part, Calañas councilwoman Macarena Gómez highlighted the festival's consolidation and the association's work with the town's children. The event will take place starting at 8:00 PM in the multifunctional hall, a venue expected to be "very welcoming" for all attendees.
Pedro García, from the 'Juan Manuel Serrano' Carnival Association, expressed gratitude for the support from the Provincial Council and the Calañas City Council, underscoring the positive reception of carnival in the town despite its 3,000 inhabitants.
This year's lineup features the 'La comparsa de la cantera' comparsa, a finalist in the Cádiz carnival, and the chirigota 'Los antiguos, de Carlitos Pérez'. Local groups such as Trotamundos and the Irundina comparsa will also perform.
Advance tickets are priced at 7 euros for members and 10 euros for non-members, available online at Giglón and physically at La Calañesa bakery until Wednesday. At the box office, prices will increase to 10 and 20 euros, respectively.
