Sunday's traffic in the province of Granada was marked by two accidents on the A-92 highway, which required the intervention of emergency services and caused some traffic delays.
The most serious incident occurred in the municipality of Loja, where a 32-year-old driver lost control of her vehicle and collided with the median. The accident happened around 10:00 AM at kilometer 192 of the A-92, heading towards Granada. Emergency services attended to the woman at the scene before transferring her to the Hospital de Loja. Details about the extent of her injuries have not yet been released.
Hours earlier, around 7:10 AM, another accident took place at kilometer 263 of the same highway, in the municipality of Huétor Santillán and heading towards Seville. In this case, a driver collided with the guardrail. The driver was practically unharmed and did not require medical assistance, according to the 112 emergency service. This incident did cause some morning traffic jams, although traffic was later restored.
These two incidents were the most significant events of a Sunday that, despite the heavy traffic typical of the August getaway, has been calmer than expected on Granada's roads. Authorities are reminding drivers to exercise caution, especially on major routes like the A-92.
