The Bailén City Council, through its Department of Environment, has announced a new free Astronomical Day titled 'Night Sky in Burguillos', to be held on Saturday, September 19th starting at 9:30 PM in the emblematic recreational area of Burguillos.
This initiative aims to bring science and cosmic observation closer to residents and visitors, fostering scientific curiosity in all age groups.
The councilor for the area, María Teresa Risueño, highlighted the importance of these events for the municipality, explaining that the goal is for attendees to learn to identify constellations and planets in a natural setting.

"Our main objective is to awaken the scientific curiosity of adults and children while we enjoy such a valuable natural resource as our night sky. We want attendees to learn to identify constellations, visible planets, and the secrets of the universe in a didactic, enjoyable way, surrounded by nature."
Risueño emphasized the ideal conditions of the Monte Público and Dehesa de Burguillos, noting that the location away from the urban center minimizes light pollution, allowing for clear sky observation.

The activity is free to access, but prior registration is required by sending a message to vulpesmar@hotmail.com for proper organization. Attendees are advised to wear comfortable warm clothing and suitable footwear for the natural environment.
