Seven localities in Granada, including Chauchina, Cijuela, and Santa Fe, will implement a coordinated program of activities throughout April to foster healthy habits in their educational centers.

The territorial delegate for Educational Development and Vocational Training and for University, Research and Innovation, María José Martín, attended the official presentation of the Health Month 2026. This pioneering initiative, organized by the Santa Fe City Council and the Santa Fe Clinical Management Unit, will be carried out simultaneously in seven municipalities in Granada throughout April.
For the first time, the Granada municipalities of Chauchina, Fuente Vaqueros, Cijuela, Láchar-Peñuelas, Chimeneas, and Santa Fe will develop a coordinated program of health-related activities. The project actively involves the educational community, including nursery schools, primary schools, subsidized schools, secondary schools, and permanent and rural education centers.

"Community health is also learned in classrooms; we cannot understand a complete education if we do not work on healthy lifestyle habits, emotional well-being, and prevention from the earliest stages. This Health Month demonstrates that schools, healthcare, and local administration can work together to improve the lives of our families."

The Health Month 2026 program includes various proposals, such as healthy eating workshops, active routes, and community walks. Additionally, talks on emotional well-being, intergenerational activities, informative sessions on prevention and self-care, first aid workshops in schools, meetings with health professionals, and specific proposals for the elderly, children, and adolescents will be held. The program also includes actions such as the Annual Electrophysio Prescription Program and school visits to health centers, coordinated by the nursing team.
Activities will commence on April 7, coinciding with World Health Day, marking the beginning of a month dedicated to collective participation and commitment. The organization has encouraged all citizens to participate, get involved, and work together in this initiative that aims to make health a lived right in town squares, parks, educational centers, and the daily lives of the towns.
Participating educational centers include nursery schools Baúl de las Ilusiones, Bernard Van Leer, Fernando de los Ríos, Láchar, Los Duendecillos, Matilde Cantos, and Peñuelas. Also involved are the subsidized centers Carmen Sallés, EFA El Soto, La Purísima, and Virgen del Espino, as well as primary schools Capitulaciones, El Sauce, Federico García Lorca, Francisca Hurtado, Nuestra Señora del Rosario, Reyes Católicos, and Rogelio Arasil.
