The Granada International Music and Dance Festival has commenced its 75th edition with a ceremony of significant institutional and artistic importance. The inaugural event, held in the emblematic Palace of Charles V within the Alhambra, was attended by Queen Sofía, drawing hundreds of guests for an evening dedicated to musical excellence and the celebration of the city's cultural history.
Maestro Zubin Mehta was the central figure of the evening. At 90 years old, the renowned conductor returned to the Granada festival for the fifth time to lead the prestigious Orchestra del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino. Mehta presented a program exclusively dedicated to the final three symphonies of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, reinforcing his strong ties to Granada and delivering one of the most memorable performances of this commemorative edition.
