This gathering will bring together cheese professionals and enthusiasts from around the world for a universal exhibition. Félix Romero, delegate for Economic Development, Promotion, and Employment of the provincial institution, detailed the program, emphasizing that the event will make the city an international epicenter for cheese culture and the dairy sector.
Romero highlighted that hosting the ‘Cheese Oscars’ is the result of the work by municipalities like Zuheros, positioning Córdoba as a leader in the dairy sector. This year, record figures are expected, with the commercialization of a product that generates employment, fosters innovation, internationalization, and added value.
This edition has registered over 5,000 cheeses, with representation from 44 countries across five continents, marking the largest participation to date. It will also feature over 300 judges from 50 countries.
Félix Romero, who also chairs Iprodeco, expressed pride in Córdoba serving as this international showcase, underscoring the global projection, development, and job creation the event brings.
Isabel Albás, Councilor for Culture and Heritage of the City Council of Córdoba, stressed the importance of public-private collaboration for the event's excellence, which will take place at the Exhibition, Fair, and Convention Center (CEFC).
Cristina de Toro, Director General of Industry, Innovation, and the Agri-food Chain of the Regional Government of Andalusia, highlighted the visibility given to a sector committed to quality, offering tools for business development.
Luisa Villegas, Director of the Spanish Cheese Institute, outlined the three points of interest: the World Cheese Awards 2026 (the ‘Cheese Oscars’), a two-story exhibition space featuring around a hundred producing and exhibiting companies, and the Experimental Classroom for presentations, tastings, and pairings.
The third point of interest for professionals will be the Dairy and Cheese Innovation Forums and Lactopolis. The event will conclude with the reading of a Cordoba Manifesto on November 14.
