The bullfighter, one of the most prominent figures in contemporary bullfighting, was severely injured last Monday at the Maestranza in Seville. The goring occurred while he was attempting to control the bull with his cape, resulting in a wound to the posterior part of his left thigh.
Following the incident, the matador was urgently transferred to the infirmary, where he underwent surgery. The surgeon in charge of the operation has indicated that the wound is "very complex" and requires constant monitoring, meaning several days will be needed for a definitive assessment of his condition.
“"It is a very complex wound that requires a lot of vigilance."
Although the medical team estimates that the bullfighter will need to remain hospitalized for at least a week, anticipation among fans is high. Many have already purchased tickets for the June 6 corrida in Granada, where the bullfighter is scheduled to appear alongside other prominent figures such as David Fandila, 'El Fandi' and Pablo Aguado.
Further details regarding the bullfighter's recovery and potential return to the bullring are expected this Wednesday, as the medical team plans to hold a press conference to provide updates.
