Man Hospitalized for Smoke Inhalation After Kitchen Fire in Salobreña

A 64-year-old man was taken to the hospital after a frying pan caused a fire in his apartment's kitchen.

A 64-year-old man was hospitalized for smoke inhalation following a kitchen fire in his home in Salobreña, Granada, last Monday, April 6, as reported by the 112 Andalucía Emergency Service.

The incident occurred around 9:25 PM on Monday, when a call alerted 112 to a fire on the second floor of an apartment building on Doctor Fleming Street. The caller indicated that an elderly man was inside the property.
Immediately, the coordinating center dispatched the Motril Fire Department, the 061 Health Emergency Center, the Guardia Civil, and the Local Police to the scene.
Emergency personnel confirmed that the fire originated from a frying pan, causing damage to the kitchen and smoke affecting an adjacent room. Firefighters proceeded to ventilate and cool the residence.
The homeowner was evacuated by medical services to the Salobreña Primary Care Center, where he received medical attention for smoke inhalation. Fortunately, it was not necessary to evacuate the three-story building.
