As part of Operation Árbol, the Southern Urban Crime Unit of the National Police has dismantled a cannabis cultivation operation in a property on the southern outskirts of Granada. During the operation, a total of 371 marijuana plants, 370 grams of buds ready for sale, and over 1,500 euros in cash were seized.
The detainees are a 27-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man, the latter having previous police records. Both have been released pending their appearance before the judicial authority.
The investigation began upon receiving information about a residence allegedly used for intensive cannabis sativa cultivation. Collaboration with the electricity supply company revealed that the property lacked an electricity contract, despite the audible noise of air conditioning units inside, indicating electricity fraud.
Following judicial authorization, officers searched the two-story building. The upper floor contained 77 marijuana cuttings and a safe with 1,550 euros. The lower floor housed 152 plants in drying state and another 142 in the same condition, along with cultivation tools. The total weight of cut plants exceeded 16 kilograms.
