The Andalusian Emergency Agency (EMA 112) managed 23,924 incidents across the entire community, an increase of 12.31% compared to the previous year. This rise reflects the greater influx of people and activities in the streets during these key dates for tourism and public celebrations.
Within the Andalusian context, Granada positioned itself as one of the provinces with the highest number of alerts, only surpassed by Seville, Málaga, and Cádiz. Specifically in the city of Granada, approximately 900 emergencies were attended, highlighting the impact of Holy Week on the city's daily life.
The busiest days coincided with the central days of the week, with Holy Saturday being the most intense day, showing activity peaks similar to those recorded throughout the rest of Andalusia. The moment of maximum operational intensity was concentrated between 8:00 PM and 9:00 PM on that day, coinciding with the largest public turnout.
Health assistance, with over 11,400 cases in Andalusia, was the main reason for intervention, followed by incidents related to citizen security, exceeding 4,400.
In addition to health assistance and security issues, emergency services also managed calls related to traffic, road accidents, fires, and situations concerning animal welfare. Other services included rescues, basic supply problems, and social care.
The Junta de Andalucía reminds the public that the 112 telephone number is a free service available 24 hours a day, allowing various emergencies to be handled with a single call. This service also offers multilingual assistance, facilitating support for tourists and visitors in the region.
