Heat was constant throughout the month, with the daily average temperature never dropping below 24.7 degrees on any given day. On several days, the average exceeded 30 degrees, highlighting the persistence of exceptionally high temperatures.
A total of 13 days recorded temperatures equal to or above 40 degrees, with most concentrated in the second half of the month. The hottest day was July 22nd, coinciding with a heatwave, when the thermometer reached 43.9 degrees at the Chauchina observatory, one of the ten highest historical records. This was followed by July 30th (42.3 degrees) and July 19th (41.9 degrees).
Other notable maximums included 41.8 degrees on July 31st, 41.6 on the 23rd, 41.5 on the 15th, 41.1 on the 18th, and 41 degrees recorded on the 8th and 17th.
Regarding minimum temperatures, the highest was recorded on July 20th with 23.5 degrees, followed by 23.3 degrees on the 24th. The coolest nights occurred on July 10th (14.3 degrees) and July 26th (15 degrees), figures considered high for an observatory located away from the urban 'heat island' effect.
At Armilla Air Base, due to its higher altitude, the July average was 28.2 degrees, with average maximums of 37.4 and minimums of 19.5 degrees. The hottest days were also concentrated at the end of the month, with a peak of 42.6 degrees on July 22nd.
