The city of Granada has witnessed a unique transfer of twelve floats and palanquins brought to the Granada Cathedral. This event is part of the exhibition Kerygma ‘The Art of Evangelizing’, which opened last May and has now seen its display fully assembled.
Since early morning, the religious images have paraded through the city streets in a solemn and silent procession, without musical accompaniment, to be installed in the nave of the Cathedral's Hall 8, known as the ‘Traveling Altar’. There, alongside the 34 images already present, they will form one of the city's main cultural and religious attractions in the coming months.
This second phase of the project, which began to take shape in April, has now been completed following the necessary reorganization due to the celebration of Corpus Christi. The proximity of this festival led to the postponement of the incorporation of these twelve floats, which now join the exhibition.
The transfers were carried out with an emphasis on solemnity and reverence, in line with the exhibition's catechetical purpose. The images arrived from different parts of the city, including the Albaicín, Realejo, and Zaidín neighborhoods, converging at Plaza de Isabel la Católica before heading to the Cathedral, where they arrived around 9:00 AM.
