The series will feature participation from bishops of Huelva and Getafe, as well as the archbishop of Santiago de Compostela, among other speakers. The sessions will take place at the institution's social headquarters in Almonte.
The president of the Matriz Brotherhood, Santiago Padilla, explained that the initiative aims to "fill this extraordinary time with formative content" and offer an opportunity for reflection on essential matters of faith. He invited brothers, residents of Almonte, and other brotherhoods to participate.
Antonio Ramos, delegate for Formation, emphasized the intention for the Jubilee Year to also have an interior dimension, relating Christian faith to daily life challenges.
The program will begin on October 2nd with the bishop of Huelva, D. Santiago Gómez Sierra, delivering the conference “The Jubilee Year of El Rocío. An opportunity and a responsibility for Almonte and for the brotherhoods of El Rocío”. This will be followed by talks on the papal encyclical, popular religiosity, and preparation for Advent and Lent.
Other notable interventions include that of the archbishop of Santiago de Compostela, D. Francisco José Prieto Fernández, on November 20th, and the bishop of Getafe, D. Ginés García Beltrán, on January 15th, 2027.
The series will conclude on February 5th, 2027, with the parish priest of Almonte and rector of the Sanctuary of El Rocío, D. Francisco Miguel Valencia Bando, who will give the talk “Preparing for Lent in an extraordinary year for Almonte”.
This formative proposal, extending through much of the 2026-2027 academic year, seeks to bring various aspects of Church life to the realm of brotherhoods and the devotion to El Rocío.
