Granada CF is preparing for its second pre-season match this Wednesday, facing Neom SC, a team from the top tier of Saudi Arabian football. The game will take place at the Marbella Football Center starting at 7:00 PM.
After the draw against Juventud Torremolinos, the team led by Pacheta aims to gain competitive minutes and improve their physical condition for the start of LaLiga Hypermotion. The match against the Arab team represents a good opportunity to measure the performance of the red-and-white squad against a rival with renowned players and an ambitious sporting project.
Neom SC is managed by French coach Christophe Galtier, who has coached teams like Lille and Paris Saint-Germain. Among their ranks are striker Alexandre Lacazette, with a notable career at Olympique de Lyon and Arsenal, and goalkeeper Luís Maximiano, who played for Granada during the 2022/23 season.
The presence of Lacazette and, particularly, Maximiano, adds extra appeal to the friendly, as the Portuguese goalkeeper will face his former club.
Pacheta's main objective will be to build competitive load and shape the team, distributing minutes among the first-team squad and several youth players who showed good promise in the first friendly. Goalkeeper Raúl Lizoain, recently signed, is expected to make his debut for the club.
While the sporting management works on new signings, the coach will continue evaluating available players and young talents like Rayan Zinebi, who scored in the summer debut.
This match will be the last test before the Trofeo Ciudad de Granada, scheduled for Saturday, July 25th, at the Nuevo Los Cármenes stadium against Real Betis.
Fans unable to attend the match in Marbella can follow it live via Granada CF Plus, the club's official platform.
