With over 50 crosses installed across the Granadan map, the day was a resounding success, highlighting the high community participation and the effort dedicated to this celebration. The competition jury visited the various registered installations in different categories to determine the final verdict.
The Day of the Cross festivity, rooted in Catholic tradition, continues to be a fundamental pillar of the Granadan calendar, filling the city with music, popular culture, and art. The results of the 2026 competition reflect the commitment of brotherhoods, neighborhood associations, schools, and businesses.
In the Streets and Squares category, the first prize went to the Hermandad de la Aurora. In Patios, the Asociación de Vecinos de la Chana and the Asociación de Hosteleros y Comerciantes de la Chana shared the top award. Colegio Regina Mundi secured first place in the Schools category, while the Hermandad de los Dolores, Vía Crucis y Concepción was the winner in Brotherhoods. Finally, Hotel Boutique Luna Triunfo stood out in the Shop Windows category.
In addition to the main awards, special mentions were granted, such as the Seniors award to CPA Joaquina Eguaras and the Neighborhood Participation award to Casa Ajsaris and the Asociación Dona Libros de Ruiz de Alda, recognizing the community spirit of the celebration.
