The Granada City Council and the Royal Andalusian Football Federation (RFAF) have formalized an agreement to boost futsal in the Municipal Sports Games, guaranteeing mutual insurance and medical assistance for 1,800 participants and optimizing competition management.
Granada's mayor, Marifrán Carazo, and the president of the RFAF, Pedro Curtido, signed an agreement this Sunday that renews and consolidates a crucial institutional collaboration. This pact aims to enhance the sporting and organizational quality of the municipal futsal competition, which currently involves approximately 1,800 athletes.
“
"This is a historic agreement that we have promoted since this government team arrived at the City Council, and which we are renewing today to continue joining efforts between the Andalusian Football Federation and the Sports Department of the Granada City Council."
Carazo emphasized that this agreement has led to a significant leap in quality for the Municipal Sports Games in the futsal modality. Thanks to it, young participants now benefit from services comparable to those of any federated footballer, including mutual insurance and medical assistance. This not only strengthens the safety and protection of the players but also improves the organization of the competition through technical and refereeing support provided by the Federation.
The mayor of Granada also pointed out that the agreement opens new opportunities for young players, as participants in the Municipal Sports Games can be called up by provincial or regional teams. This incentive is fundamental for developing sports talent from its early stages. The institutional collaboration underscores the importance of coordination with sports federations to promote grassroots sports in the city, leveraging Granada's outstanding talent pool and tradition in futsal.

"This agreement represents a great leap in quality so that players from municipal schools have their mutual insurance, are within the federative structure, that we give them shelter and, above all, to bet on football and futsal here in Granada from the responsibility we have in promoting grassroots sports among the youngest, and I thank the Granada City Council for allowing us to work hand in hand."
The president of the RFAF, Pedro Curtido, added that this agreement is a significant step to integrate municipal school players into the federative structure, ensuring their well-being and promoting football and futsal in Granada. Furthermore, Curtido anticipated future projects in collaboration with the City Council to improve sports facilities and football in the province.
