The Granada City Council has formally renewed its agreement with the Royal Andalusian Football Federation (RFAF) to strengthen futsal within the Municipal Sports Games, an initiative that benefits approximately 1,800 young athletes.
Granada's mayor, Marifrán Carazo, signed this new agreement, which continues a crucial institutional collaboration. This pact aims to boost the organizational and sporting quality of the competition, ensuring a safer environment with greater opportunities for participants.
“
"This is a historic agreement that we promoted since this government team arrived at the City Council, and which we are renewing today to continue joining efforts between the Andalusian Football Federation and the Sports Department of the Granada City Council."
Carazo emphasized that the agreement has led to a significant leap in quality for the Municipal Sports Games in the futsal discipline. Thanks to this alliance, young athletes enjoy benefits similar to those of a federated footballer, including mutual insurance and medical assistance, which increases their safety and protection. Furthermore, the competition's organization is strengthened by the technical and refereeing support from the Federation.
The granadine mayor also highlighted that the agreement opens new avenues for young talents, as participants in the Municipal Sports Games can be considered for provincial or regional selections. This represents an important incentive for the development of grassroots sports in the city. Collaboration with sports federations is fundamental for promoting grassroots sports, a priority for the City Council.

"A big leap in quality so that municipal school players have their mutual insurance, are within the federative structure, that we give them shelter and, above all, to bet on football and futsal here in Granada from the responsibility we have in promoting grassroots sports among the youngest."
For his part, Pedro Curtido, president of the RFAF, thanked the Granada City Council for the collaboration and underscored the Federation's commitment to grassroots sports. He also announced future projects with the City Council to improve facilities and football in the province.
