Two of the affected blocks are located on Avenida de Barcelona and a third on Calle Óscar Romero. These evacuations are part of the second building review plan in the area, which is the most impacted by the seismic activity that began on August 15th.
Evacuated residents without alternative housing are being accommodated at the Inturjoven hostel, managed by the Junta de Andalucía. Concurrently, the Granada City Council is working to find solutions within the neighborhood to minimize disruption to the affected residents' routines.
The Zaidín neighborhood maintains an atmosphere of unease following the earthquakes, which have caused evident structural damage. Inspections have been prioritized based on damage classification, and a multidisciplinary team continues to work on the ground to ensure public safety.
Although neighborhood communities were already consulting with an architect regarding repairs, the safety team has decided on a preventive evacuation. Before each evacuation, residents, administrators, and community presidents are informed, and coordination with the Local Police and Civil Protection is established to offer housing alternatives.
