The Spanish Basketball Federation (FEB) has defined the roadmap for the upcoming 2026/27 Primera FEB season, a competition in which Coviran Granada will participate with the firm intention of being promoted to the Endesa League. The league will feature 18 teams and will kick off on September 25, 2026, running until June 2027.
One of the most notable innovations will be the potential implementation of the Instant Replay system, a technological tool that will allow referees to review key plays during matches, similar to that used in the Endesa League and international competitions. This measure aims to further professionalize the league and facilitate a smoother transition for teams like Coviran Granada.
Additionally, the FEB has approved other modifications, such as increasing the number of licenses to 15 players per team, although only 12 can be registered per game, and eliminating the traditional points-based classification system. The competition will maintain its structure of 18 teams and 34 matchdays.
The champion of the regular season will earn direct promotion to the Endesa League, while the second spot will be decided through playoffs culminating in a Final Four. Key dates for Coviran Granada include the start of the regular league on September 25, 2026, the end of the regular league on May 7, 2027, and the Final Four for promotion on June 5 and 6, 2027. The competition will also include breaks for the 'FIBA Windows'.
The Granada club faces this new stage with the clear objective of returning to the top tier of Spanish basketball, consolidating the growth of a league that is increasingly approaching elite standards.
