The Granada Fire Consortium, affiliated with the Provincial Council, has announced its willingness to provide "human and material resources" to Venezuela in the aftermath of a catastrophe caused by two major earthquakes. This offer follows instructions from the provincial institution's president, Francis Rodríguez, and communication from the Emergency Deputy, Eduardo Martos.
The organization has already dispatched letters of offer to both the Regional Government of Andalusia and the Government Delegation to expedite the necessary procedures for providing this aid. Eduardo Martos conveyed the "solidarity with the Venezuelan people" following the early morning disaster, specifying that administrative steps are underway to enable the deployment of firefighters to the affected area.
In the letter sent to the Ministry of Health, Presidency, and Emergencies of the Regional Government of Andalusia, the Consortium places its "operational capacity" at their disposal, indicating that personnel and equipment could be mobilized based on needs and availability, pending relevant instructions.
Concurrently, a letter has been sent to the Spanish Government Delegation, offering "the human and material resources that may be necessary to attend to emergency, civil protection, rescue, and support operations for the affected population." This offer is made within the framework of inter-territorial solidarity and administrative cooperation principles outlined in national Civil Protection legislation.
The letter concludes by stating that the mobilization of these resources would occur under coordination procedures determined by the General State Administration, ensuring at all times the maintenance of ordinary response capacity within the province of Granada. The Consortium's personnel are awaiting further instructions.
