The team coached by Adrián Martín sought its first summer victory after drawing against Atlético de Madrid, but faced a tough opponent that finished fifth in the English Women´s Super League last season.
The red-and-white coach's starting lineup included Laura Sánchez in goal; Naiara Sanmartín, Jujuba, Teresa Mérida, and Paula Perea in defense; Daniela Miñambres and Miku in midfield, with Vera Molina playing more advanced; Maya Evans and Raquel Gil on the wings; and Bárbara as the striker.
The first dangerous chances fell to Tottenham, forcing saves from Laura Sánchez. Before halftime, Granada increased their attacking presence, creating some notable opportunities but without success in front of the rival goal.
The second half saw a more even pace, with the Granada defense performing well. However, just as the red-and-white team seemed to be playing their best, Tottenham managed to beat Alba Ibáñez with a decisive goal from Gaupset. The match also marked the debut of juveniles Vero, Carlota, and Elena.
The next match for Granada Femenino will be at the Ciudad Deportiva Francisco Mendoza on Wednesday, August 12, at 7:00 PM, in the semi-finals of the Copa de Andalucía against the winner of the match between Sporting de Huelva and Córdoba CF.
