The Administrator of Railway Infrastructures (Adif) reported that the interruption occurred "at the request of emergency services" due to a fire "unrelated to the infrastructure." Traffic was halted around 7:00 AM.
To ensure traveler mobility affected by the closure of the conventional gauge line, an alternative road transport plan has been implemented.
The fire, declared in Villanueva de los Castillejos, has necessitated the activation of operational level 2 of the Forest Fire Emergency Plan. Personnel from the Military Emergencies Unit (UME) have been deployed to the area to combat the flames.
Furthermore, the mayor of San Bartolomé de la Torre, María Eugenia Limón, stated that roads A-495 and A-431 were reopened to traffic at 2:30 AM, restoring normal communications in the area.
