The Infoca Plan has announced the stabilization of the fire that broke out last Thursday in the La Juanita area, within the municipality of Alosno. The situation update was issued on Friday night, and currently, twenty personnel and two fire engines are continuing efforts to control the flames.
The fire started with considerable intensity, requiring the deployment of a significant force. At its peak, up to 130 ground personnel, nine fire engines, and five bulldozers worked in the area, supported by seven planes and six helicopters. Personnel from the Provincial Firefighters Consortium of Huelva also collaborated in the extinguishing efforts. The incorporation of new aerial units is planned for Saturday morning.
The causes of the incident are still unknown, although investigation sources suggest it may have been intentional, given that this is the second fire in the same area within 24 hours. Information regarding the total area affected by the fire has not yet been released.
This incident adds to four other fires recorded this week in the province of Huelva. The most serious occurred in El Cerro de Andévalo, affecting approximately 1,200 hectares and causing the evacuation of over 300 residents, with flames reaching the vicinity of Villanueva de las Cruces.
