The operation, named Bankasalt, was initiated by the Judicial Police Team of the Civil Guard in Badajoz. Following a thorough investigation and eight property searches, 13 long firearms, two short firearms, vests, and balaclavas—items used in their assaults—were seized. These actions led to the arrest of two of the gang's leaders and the identification of the remaining members.
The Huelva Command of the Civil Guard received crucial intelligence indicating that one of the organization's escaped members might be hiding in the province of Huelva, specifically in the town of Isla Cristina.
Consequently, a surveillance operation was established in the area. Once the suspect's identity was confirmed, an arrest operation was planned for a public road, specifically at the Isla Antilla Shopping Center. The action was carried out strategically at the most opportune moment to prevent any escape attempt and, above all, prioritizing public safety.
The arrested individual, along with the police proceedings, has been brought before the court handling the case, which has ordered his imprisonment.
