Fundación Aras has sent the resolution from the Municipal Urban Planning Department to the Regional Ministry of Housing. This document is based on the unanimous agreement of the City Council Plenary, adopted on September 28, to change the land use of the municipal plot on Avenida de la Manzanilla. On this land, the entity is constructing the future elderly residence for Sanlúcar.
The local Corporation approved in its September ordinary session to designate this land for protected housing development, as requested by Aras. This legal requirement is essential to complete the construction of the center, which aims to meet the housing demand for vulnerable individuals.
The new residence will offer 56 places, distributed across 33 protected housing units available for rent. It is specifically designed for individuals over 65 with physical or mental disabilities, as well as groups at risk of social exclusion.
With this step, Fundación Aras, supported by the City Council, is progressing in realizing this project. The mayor, Carmen Álvarez, maintains constant contact with the entity's president, Patrocinio Fraga, and with the Regional Government of Andalusia to expedite the necessary administrative procedures so that the residence can become operational as soon as possible.
This new formal procedure allows for continued advancement in this project of a strong social character, facilitating Fundación Aras with the precise processing after years of negotiations with various administrations and charitable initiatives in Sanlúcar to raise funds.
