This project, included in the General Urban Planning Plan since 1997 and with studies modified in 2022, had been stalled. The process affects eight properties and has passed public information, with some owner claims being upheld, particularly regarding economic valuations.
The total amount for valuations and compensation is 920,571 euros. Affected owners will have twenty days to express any disagreement, after which the Provincial Valuation Commission of Andalusia will set the final price. The procedure will then continue with payment, the urbanization project, and construction.

Mayor Carmen Álvarez positively assessed the agreement, highlighting its importance for traffic relief on the Camino del Instituto. She announced that the urbanization project will be completed within this municipal term, with the new road opening by the end of 2027.
Álvarez also criticized the opposition's attitude, noting the PSOE's departure from the session and an interruption by a Local Police representative. She stated that the socialists caused an issue with caretakers in 2022 by altering the contract type in the employment pool. Three caretakers with favorable court rulings will be reinstated next week, while the council analyzes payments for other rulings it intends to appeal to protect municipal finances.
Regarding the opposition from the PP and Vox, the mayor lamented motions considered unconstitutional, such as alleged manipulation of the electoral roll, or raising issues the municipal government is already addressing, like the pest control plan and the preventive cleaning of the city's sewage system.
Finally, Carmen Álvarez urged the opposition to allow the local government to work, celebrating the urban development in the Verdigones area, whose residents will receive expropriation compensation after nearly 30 years of waiting since the 1997 PGOU.
