The Mayor, Carmen Álvarez, accompanied by the delegate for Commerce, Elena Ramírez, held a meeting with representatives from the Association of Small and Medium Enterprises of Sanlúcar (Apysan), the Association of Merchants of Barrameda Street, and the collective of merchants from Santo Domingo Street. The objective was to learn about their common project for the creation and promotion of a commercial hub in these areas, which is open to the Barrio Alto and other parts of the town.
During the meeting, the three entities explained to the mayor various initiatives they are working on to boost commercial activity in the city's shopping areas. Notably, they highlighted the launch of a commercial hub in coordination with the City Council. They emphasized the need to continue supporting local businesses to compete with online sales platforms and large retail chains.
The mayor welcomed the proposals and requests from the merchants, and the municipal government will maintain direct contact to continue working together. The local government reaffirms its commitment to proximity commerce as a fundamental sector of the city's economy and daily life, aiming to support Sanlúcar's merchants in initiatives that contribute to their strengthening.
