The Provincial Council of Cádiz has officially published the final award of subsidies and the authorization of expenditure for the Integral Plan for the Activation of Culture, Gastronomy, and Sport 2026. This plan targets municipalities with fewer than 75,000 inhabitants and autonomous local entities within the province. Beneficiary towns have a period of 10 business days, starting from Friday, October 2nd, to accept the aid.
The initiative, managed by the Area of Ecological Transition and Citizen Development, aims to promote actions that enhance citizen well-being, encourage the organization of sports competitions, foster local cultural activities, and strengthen municipal support for cultural and sports programs.
The total amount of aid granted reaches €1,522,000. Of this sum, €1,242,000 will be distributed among the 39 municipalities included in the plan. Larger municipalities, including Chipiona, along with Arcos de la Frontera, Barbate, La Línea de la Concepción, Los Barrios, Conil de la Frontera, Puerto Real, Rota, Sanlúcar de Barrameda, and San Roque, will each receive €40,000.
These funds will finance projects and activities within two main lines: the first focused on enhancing historical and cultural heritage, as well as local gastronomic richness; and the second dedicated to promoting sport and healthy living. The complete list of actions to be developed in each locality is available on the Diputación de Cádiz's Notice Board.
