The primary objective of this initiative is to ensure an additional water resource for the local farmers. During the visit, the functionality of the water treatment plant and the collection system for treated water destined for crops were inspected. Technicians from the Junta de Andalucía confirmed that the process is proceeding correctly, issuing a report detailing the actions taken and the current state of the system.
The final technical report is expected to be available in approximately two weeks. Mayor Aparcero expressed optimism, stating, "We hope that by the end of October we can launch it and guarantee water for the farmers at all times," which would represent a significant step forward in the utilization of treated water.
For her part, Laura Román detailed that the City Council will continue efforts to eliminate flood-prone areas and improve water drainage, building upon previous actions in Pastrana. The situation in areas such as Valdivieso, Cruz Roja, Esparragosa, and Lucena was also discussed, where intervention is deemed necessary to control the water table and mitigate flood risks.
The parties have agreed to study, during the current month, a technical report prepared by García Serrano to define the most efficient solutions, either individually for each zone or through system unification. Additionally, delegate Román announced an upcoming meeting with Carmen Sánchez, the territorial delegate for Roads, to explore applying a procedure similar to the one used in Pastrana to these affected areas.
