The Mayor of Jaén, Julio Millán, presided this Thursday over the ceremony to place a plaque dedicated to the College of Administrative Managers on the roundabout located between Catalina Mir Real and Juan Eslava Galán streets, in the El Bulevar neighborhood. With this initiative, the City Council completes the city's recognition of this group, adding to the sculpture 'Trust, a truth to rely on', by Jaén artist Octavio Álvarez.
Julio Millán emphasized the importance of the plaque to "record the reason why this space is dedicated to the College of Administrative Managers", highlighting the role of a profession that, "despite being closely linked to daily life, often goes unnoticed".
The mayor highlighted the contribution of these professionals in the relationship between citizens, self-employed individuals, and companies with public administrations. "Behind a procedure, there is almost always a person," he stated, referring to their role in guiding and assisting citizens through "procedures that are not always simple, contributing to making that relationship closer and more understandable".
Millán stressed that the tribute "is not just about putting the name of a professional college on a roundabout, but about recognizing a profession that has been providing a service to society for years".
He explained that the concept of trust, represented by Octavio Álvarez's sculpture, "fits very well with the activity of administrative managers and the relationship they maintain with citizens and companies. The sculpture presents the idea, and the new plaque records whom Jaén wishes to recognize".
The mayor recalled that the roundabout was previously named, by plenary agreement, in recognition of the Official College of Administrative Managers of Granada, Jaén, and Almería. Subsequently, the City Council and the College signed an agreement to promote an ideas competition, from which Octavio Álvarez's sculptural proposal was selected.
For her part, María Espejo, First Deputy Mayor, valued the culmination of the recognition "to a profession that dedicates its life to intermediation between citizens and the public administrations of our city and province, with the professionalism and good work that distinguishes them, and which, since its establishment in 1944, has maintained a commitment to society and culture".
Blas Ogáyar, delegate in Jaén for the College of Administrative Managers, thanked the completion of the recognition with this plaque, stating that "trust is precisely one of the main values of our profession". "Those who go to an administrative manager entrust them with more than a procedure; they entrust a concern, a project, an obligation, or a need, always expecting to find a professional response and a solution to their problem".
Ogáyar added that "we wanted to return to the people of Jaén the affection they show us daily through their trust, and do so through this great sculptural work that we gift to the city of Jaén". He emphasized that trust also defines their relationship with public administrations, aiming to be "loyal collaborators of the institution, contributing to bringing the administration closer to citizens and making it more accessible, agile, and effective".
