The Almuñécar City Council, through its Department of Culture, has announced the calendar of events that will enliven the municipality throughout the month. This program, which has already begun with the Cruces de Mayo festivities, aims to offer a diverse cultural experience to residents and visitors.
Among the most notable proposals is the I Gala de Fandango Cortijero, an event dedicated to highlighting the typical local dance, which is essential for preserving the local cultural identity. Additionally, the I International Tunas Contest 'Ciudad de Almuñécar' will be held on May 8th and 9th, featuring parades and performances in the city center.
Literature will have its place with the XXII International Poetry Festival 'Andrés Rodríguez', bringing together authors and students at the Casa de la Cultura. On stage, performances will include works such as El Sueño de Lorca and the family musical Charlie y la Fábrica de Chocolate, alongside concerts like the Spring Concert and a live performance by The Gangberries.
The agenda is rounded out with educational initiatives such as the discussion 'Historical Figures: Emilia Pardo Bazán', book presentations, the Manga Convention, and children's activities like storytelling and baby storytelling, ensuring options for all ages.
“"This program once again places Almuñécar at the cultural epicenter of the province."
The City Council has encouraged citizens and tourists to actively participate in the various activities, with full details available on the official municipal channels.
