The event will feature two courses adapted to different levels. The main category for adults will cover a distance of 1,800 meters, with a start scheduled for 10:00 AM. For younger swimmers, including the 'alevín' category and 'young swimmers' (born in 2015 and later), a 500-meter course is planned, with a start set for 11:00 AM.
Registration for the swim is now open and can be completed through the platform cruzandolameta.es. Those wishing to register on the day of the event can do so in person at the facilities of the Real Club Náutico de Motril until 9:30 AM.
During the event's presentation, representatives from the Motril City Council, the Real Club Náutico de Motril, the Port Authority of Motril, and the Mancomunidad de Municipios de la Costa Tropical highlighted the importance of maintaining a competition with such a long tradition. The event's history and its role in promoting swimming among athletes of all levels were emphasized.
The fact that the entire course will take place within the port's docklands was noted as a demonstration of collaboration between the Port and the city, opening its spaces for sporting activities that are part of Motril's identity. The event combines a competitive aspect for high-level swimmers with a more popular option for those who enjoy swimming and wish to experience a historic race.
The official poster for this 85th edition, unveiled during the event, features a drawing by Mercedes Díaz Ledesma, a swimmer from the club, thus linking the event's image directly with its athletes.
