The arrests took place on April 20, as reported by the Benalmádena City Council. The intervention is part of a special operation designed to combat a wave of crimes in the Benalmádena Pueblo area.
The operation included a significant increase in police presence, with both uniformed patrols on foot and in vehicles, aiming to enhance visibility and create a deterrent effect. Additionally, discreet surveillance by plainclothes officers was intensified, which proved crucial in detecting suspicious movements and gathering relevant information.
Authorities also implemented stricter vehicle access controls at the urban center's entry and exit points. This measure has been described as "key" to the identification and subsequent arrest of those involved.
“"The vehicle access control measure proved key to the identification and subsequent arrest of the suspects."
After numerous hours of investigation and work, the individuals were apprehended by officers from the Benalmádena Local Police and subsequently handed over to the National Police, who are continuing with the relevant proceedings before presenting them to judicial authorities.
