Sports will take center stage in the lead-up to the San Miguel Fair with a special program designed to promote healthy lifestyles, community, and citizen participation.
The Councilor for Sports, Ramón Alcaide, highlighted that the program combines established events with new proposals, thanking the local sports community for their involvement. He encouraged residents and visitors to register through the Torremolinos Despega App.
The agenda will kick off on August 29 with the XXVI Bajondillo-Carihuela Swimming Crossing. On September 5, the II Torremolinos Functional Race, the Playamar Beach Volleyball Tournament, and the Youth Triathlon Interclub Meeting will take place. On September 6, the Pool Games Festival will be held at the Virgen del Carmen III pool.
The mountains will be featured on September 11 with the II Cañada del Lobo Vertical Time Trial Climb. On September 12, the XVII San Miguel Fair Petanque Tournament and the XXII Torremolinos Chess Open will be held.
The consolidated San Miguel 2026 Popular Race will take place on September 13. Between September 14 and 18, the Sports Villa will host the San Miguel Tennis and Padel Tournament, and on September 16, the traditional Pet Meeting will be held in Plaza Federico García Lorca.
The sports program will conclude on September 18 with the 3x3 Basketball Tournament. Three of these events (Swimming Crossing, Functional Race, and Popular Race) are part of the Torremolinos Total Challenge.
