One of the main arteries of San Pedro Alcántara, the Avenida de la Constitución, has been extensively remodeled. The works, promoted by the Marbella City Council, focused on the section between Avenida Andalucía and Calle Jerez, completely transforming the image of this important road.
The intervention encompassed a comprehensive renovation of the area, including paving, improved lighting systems, the installation of new urban furniture, and optimized accessibility. Additionally, a reorganization of the landscaped areas and the adaptation of the bus stop were carried out, responding to the demands of local residents and businesses.
“"The use of this public space has been improved, gaining new walkable areas, luminosity, and functionality."
The enhancements have allowed for a strategic redistribution of planters, retaining existing large trees and incorporating smaller shade plants to promote light entry. This action complements previous works carried out at the end of the previous year on the same avenue, specifically at its junction with Calle Doctor Esteban San Mateo.
Those earlier works, with a budget of approximately 48,000 euros and a one-month execution period, covered an area of about 250 square meters. Their objective was to improve accessibility, pedestrian mobility, energy efficiency, and sustainability, including the automation of irrigation in green areas. The remodeled zone now features ten tree grates with protective covers, bollards, and adapted pedestrian crossings, as well as a reorganization of services and paved accesses in this central and busy area of San Pedro Alcántara.
