The electrical infrastructure renovation in the Las Cañadas neighborhood, promoted by the Mijas City Council and Endesa, has been successfully completed and is now fully operational. This improvement guarantees a stable electrical supply for over 2,000 residents who for years suffered constant breakdowns and power outages.
The Councilor for Infrastructure, Juan José Torres, visited the area to oversee the completion of the works. These actions stem from the efforts initiated in January by the mayor, Ana Mata, with the electricity company. The project, which began between April and May with the installation of a dedicated transformation center for the neighborhood, included the execution of new cabling, conduits, and connections throughout July, culminating in the final connection on August 7th.
Torres highlighted that the renewal of facilities over 40 years old was made possible by the mayor's "decision and management" with Endesa and the residents themselves. The investment commitment was made on January 14th during a meeting with electricity company representatives, following a Christmas breakdown incident. Mayor Ana Mata addressed the residents' complaints about supply deficiencies and damage to electrical appliances, pledging to expedite municipal licenses to prioritize these now-completed actions.
